Frequently-Asked Questions

How do I transfer files from my office computer to the computer that is in the classroom?

We highly recommend our new secure file server. It is the quickest, most reliable means of file transfer. USB storage devices are also very convenient. Not all of our classrooms are equipped with CD drives. If you plan on using media on CDs, please check your classroom to see if a CD drive is available. We have much more information on accessing the server, as well as other recommended media.

Can I show a presentation from my laptop in the classroom?

Your ITG-supported classroom is already equipped with a connection that allows you to show presentations in the classroom directly from your laptop. For your convenience, we have created a handy PDF document that explains how to get started. View the document, print it and take it with you to your classroom.

Technology and I do not seem to get along. Is there any multimedia training available?

Multi Media Classrooms can be very confusing. That is why we offer training, to walk you through the process. If you are hesitant to use a particular piece of technology because you have never used it before, send us an E-mail with your name, telephone number and the Building and Room number where you will be teaching. A classroom specialist will be in touch with you soon.

Equipment in my classroom is not working properly. Can someone fix it?

Classroom Support is available Monday through Friday during regularly scheduled classes—even those in the evening. If your problem is urgent, please call our Help Line 472-5511. Many problems can be solved right over the telephone, so you can get back to your class quickly. If you have a non urgent problem or would like to meet with a Classroom Specialist regarding a classroom problem, send us an E-mail with your name, telephone number and the Building and Room number where you are teaching. A classroom specialist will be in touch with you soon.
